1975 Rolls Royce Silver Shadow

This 1975 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow is a Canadian-market four-door saloon that was imported to the US under previous ownership, and it was acquired by the current owner in 2023. Work performed following the owner’s purchase is said to have included servicing the transmission and air conditioning system, fluid changes, and replacing the battery, fuel pump, tires, filters, front struts, front brake pads and hoses, rear brake pads, and one of the rear suspension hydraulic lines. Powered by a 6.75-liter V8 paired with a three-speed automatic transmission, the car is finished in metallic green over green Connolly leather upholstery. It also has a sunroof, power-adjustable front seats, power windows, air conditioning, and a cassette stereo. This Silver Shadow is now offered on dealer consignment with an owner’s handbook and a clean New York title.

 

The car is finished in metallic green and features a stainless-steel Doric-inspired grille with a golf-finished Spirit of Ecstasy ornament as well as green-tinted glass, a fender-mounted antenna, a sunroof, and quad headlights. The wiper blades were replaced in August 2023, according to the selling dealer. Areas of rust are shown on the roof, rocker panels, upper doors, and lower edge of the trunk lid, and additional photos of faded and checked paint, scratches, and exterior imperfections are provided in the gallery below.

 

Steel 15″ wheels feature polished covers with body-color accents, and they are mounted with 235/70 Avon Turbosteel thin-whitewall tires that show 2022 production codes. Factory equipment includes a four-wheel independent suspension with coil springs, anti-roll bars, telescopic dampers, and a hydraulic self-leveling system. The selling dealer reports that the front struts and brake hoses, front and rear brake pads, and rear brake lines were replaced in August 2023, and further service at that time reportedly included flushing the brake system and replacing one of the rear suspension hydraulic lines.

 

The power-adjustable front bucket seats are upholstered in green Connolly leather, while wood veneer trim accents the dashboard, center console, and door panels. Interior appointments include a cassette stereo, a rear bench seat, power windows, rear passenger footrests, rubber Rolls-Royce-branded floor mats, and air conditioning. The air conditioning system was reportedly serviced in August 2023. Cracks and wear are visible on the front seats, the veneer finish between the dashboard and windshield is deteriorating, and additional photos of the interior condition are viewable in the gallery.

 

A wood-rimmed Nardi steering wheel frames Smiths instrumentation consisting of a 130-mph speedometer and a fuel level gauge alongside a Lucas ammeter. The five-digit odometer has rolled over and now shows 17k miles, approximately 50 miles of which were added under current ownership.

 

The 6.75-liter V8 featured an aluminum-silicon alloy block and aluminum cylinder heads along with dual SU carburetors. Maintenance in August 2023 consisted of oil and coolant changes as well as replacing the battery, fuel pump, fuel filter, air filter, spark plugs, and assorted vacuum lines, according to the selling dealer.

 

Power is routed to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission that was reportedly serviced in August 2023.
